    Time was a cold bath would stop colors/dyes from bleeding or fading. A friend tells me she uses cold water with vinegar and that works every time. The only color I ever test is red, a hold over from when red would run no matter what. Not so much nowadays but still one never knows. Hope everything works out with your quilt.
