I have bought and made boxer shorts for my DH. He is an avid runner and now has added biking to his list of work outs. I have to find that bicycle fabric and get those boxers done! And yes he really wears them. By-the-By who has time to get a quilt done by Father's day??

[quote=Jennifer22206]My Dad died in 2007. Still don't have the heart to finish the one that I started for him for Fathers Day 2007.quote]

I was working on a quilt for my father-in-law when he passed away. I found great comfort in finishing it and giving it to my brother-in-law (his oldest son) who LOVES it.
My husband and I have taken all Dad's shirts and are in the process of making throw size quilts for the rest of Dad's children. A very healing process. Dad's been gone 2 years and I miss him everyday!

I did a Turning Twenty quilt for my husband. I chose two focus fabrics - money & playing cards - & built around that. For the quilting I carried the theme through and did clubs, hearts, spades & diamonds. It was a lot of fun & he loves it. (I posted pictures in another thread.)

When my husband died 2 years ago after 65 years I cut all of his shirts up into sguares and sewed a quilt.I keep it on top of the davenport and it is such a comfort for me to see it there.Evertime I see it there I think of him and all those years we had together. That quilt makes my day. What a wonderful tradition for you two to have started. I wonder if my husband would go for that?

Well, I have some wonderful fishing fabrics and even a pattern that I want to use for a quilt for my honey, but.... other quilts keep getting in the way. He really deserves his own. He supports my quilting 100%. I think I need to get started, soon. But, I won't make it by Father's Day.
