    Default Feels good..

Today, I gifted a quilt I made for a couple who are good friends. They have been such enthusiasts in my quilt making since I started. I made the quilt a couple of months ago with them in mind and I was able to finally give it to them today when we met for lunch.

Both hubbie and wife literally teared up when they received it (he is seriously sentimental)...which means I teared up. We were a teary mess. Lol! Anywhoo.... It is so cool when the recipient is so appreciative and touched by a quilt gift. Another reason why I love quilting.

I know you have all experienced this with your quilt giving. Such a great moment...

I am so glad they were appreciative, and very sweet of you. It is so disappointing when quilt gift recipients seem to care less about the quilt and the effort put into making it.

Isn’t that a great feeling (tears and all) and one of the reasons I continue to make quilts for family and friends...
thank you for sharing your wonderful experience.

What a great story - it's so nice when our efforts are appreciated.

Love your story. Part, a very large part, of quilting is sharing. But, you must be careful to choose your recipients from those who show some interest, and then, not put your feelings on the line. There will be happy feelings as in this case and sometimes not so much. Keep up the great work and enjoy the journey.

that is great. I gave my secret pal a quilt this past Sunday and she boo-hooed! What a reaction! I love giving my quilts to people who appreciate them. The one before this just said, 'thanks for the blanket." She didn't even open it up to look at it.

It’s the best feeling. From smiles to tears , to hugging the quilt and spinning around with it (in the case of an 11 year old tutoring student I had) , the grateful aporeciation is what we hope for and makes it all worthwhile.

What a wonderful treat to give to two friends that were so happy to receive your quilt. It's why I prefer to give quilts instead of selling quilts. So happy for you, keep on Quilting.
