Default Finally Found What I was looking for?

So as some of you know I am a hand quilter, and hate writing on my quilts with chalk if I have to I will but I was trying to find an easier way to put my designs on and quilt them. Well here you go finally I found something I can quilt through and look nice. Its called
[h=1]Sulky 12-Inch by 9-Yard Solvy Water Soluble Stabilizer Roll
[/h]I couldn't believe it I put the the design on and was able to quilt trough it just fine and no taring it devolves with water. I was able to get it at amazon and its just wonderful.

Thanks for posting this great information! Do you think this could be used for machine quilting also? If so, what a great product to have available.

It says used for quilting, so I'm sure you can the instructions say you can use something to stick it on the fabric such as glue stick or pens to place it on the quilt to keep it from moving I used clear tape. Just make sure when you put the design on let it dry before sewing threw it I let mine dry over night but a couple of hours should be alright too. Oh ya if you cats put it up high, my cat kept trying to smell of it and mess with it while it was on the kitchen table.

Yes you can use Sulky products for machine quilting! There are several different kinds - some you can pin or baste on, others cling to the fabric. The Sticky Fabri-solvy comes on sheets you can run thru the printer, then you peel off the paper and it clings to the fabric while you quilt. It washes out when you are done. I just used it on a couple of quilts and was very pleased with it. It's great for a special project, but is a little pricey for everyday use. Some people do the same with glad cling wrap, but this washes out vs. having to pick the bits of cling wrap out between the stitches.

I looked this stuff up, looks great ... but confused.

In your pic, it looks like the stabilizer is red, but the sulky page only lists white.

Or is it your fabric that is red??

When you say run it through a printer, do you mean inkjet printer or laser printer, or does it work with both? I've read about many techniques that don't work on a laser printer because of the heat, and I'm wondering if anyone's used this product with a laser printer.
