Ignore my post, not myself this morning. This should teach me to read all the posts before replying.

As usual lots of good tips leading off the original topic--never thought of it for quilting.

What a great idea! Thanks for sharing - need to put freezer paper on my grocery list!

Not only is it good for applique, we use it for the bottom of our bird cages. Doesn't attract gnats, like newspaper and other stuff does. We did watch closely the first few days to make sure our birds did not chew on it since it has that waxy side.

Is it possible to use freezer paper for an odd shape, like a cut-out of an animal? Or does that have to be done using the needle-turn method?

Simply Quilts' Alex Andersen irons up to 9 pcs tog, cuts the shape she needs and then peels them apart as needed...

It you are writing on your fabric for a lapel or something like that. Iron freezer to the wrong size and you can write
    smoother.
