    I also use it to make clothing patterns,lay out on fabric, press and you can cut out with out all that pinning! can be used over and over!

    Not only is it good for applique, we use it for the bottom of our bird cages. Doesn't attract gnats, like newspaper and other stuff does. We did watch closely the first few days to make sure our birds did not chew on it since it has that waxy side.

    Is it possible to use freezer paper for an odd shape, like a cut-out of an animal? Or does that have to be done using the needle-turn method?

    Simply Quilts' Alex Andersen irons up to 9 pcs tog, cuts the shape she needs and then peels them apart as needed...

    It you are writing on your fabric for a lapel or something like that. Iron freezer to the wrong size and you can write
    smoother.
