Default Girly girl baby quilt

My niece is expecting a girl I would like to make her a really girly girl quilt. I need a suggestion. I don't like applique but could do a little bit if I have to. I love to paper piece. Nothing too simple. Any good ideas?

This is one of my favorites... right from the Quilting Board. The pinwheels are 3-D. You can make this as girly as you like, with the right fabric choices.

There is a beautiful quilt with big flowers made with grandmother garden round and then curved corners. It's just right for a baby girl. It was in pictures about a month age. I didn't bookmark sorry.

I love that one that was linked above. Very girly and gorgeous colors and quilting. Would be a perfect choice.

The prettiest girl baby quilt I've made so far was 3 taupe fabrics, 3 gray fabrics, 3 white on white fabrics and 3 pink fabrics for the pinwheels and the background was a small taupe, gray and white floral spray on a cream background. It was just stunning.

I only make pinwheel baby quilts. They're fast, easy and no two have ever been alike. I never use "baby" fabrics because kids tend to start rejecting things as "too baby" when they hit 2.5 to 3. Girls are especially bad about that.

My first thought was pinwheels also. Perhaps pink and white, maybe some gingham, stripes or polkadots?

I would totally go for cotton eyelet ruffles at the binding, and or scallops. Here are a few images I've scarfed up and put in my ideas file, and my first quilt, which was for a girl, and done from all sorts of lovely feely-fabric.
the aqua one is for a boy but it could be done in girly colors.
Have fun!

I made the McKinley quilt using a girly charm pack. Easy but cute.
