Good Morning, I am a nurse and specialize in infection prevention so my hands have had years of wear and tear.

I agree that product that leaving the hands sticky and greasy are not comfortable. You might want to use products that are more comfortable during the day but change to heavier or thicker product at night. Always clean your hands before applying any hand lotion or cream. Wash your hands and gently pat dry your hands. Then apply the product on those freshly cleaned hands then go to sleep.

During the day I use a generic fragrance free moisture complex, about $3 for a huge bottle. At night I treat myself to 2 pumps fulls of Crabtree & Evelyn Gardeners Hand Therapy. What a wonderful scent that helps me realize it is time to sleep--just my habit that triggers my brain each night signifying it is time to sleep.

I'm diabetic, make a lot jean quilts so my hands get really dried out.
I use DrScholl's overnight foot cream, with in a couple of days my feet are soft again, use it on hands, legs, arms
Anything that has urea ingredient in it works the best. You can also find creams on the internet that have this in it.

The only lotion that I truly LOVE using is the Dial NutriSkin.
I have the biggest bottles (with pumps) that can be found
at Wal Mart.

The Gold Bond is good. Once you are finished for a short while with sewing, I also use Burt's Beeswax Almond Milk Lotion -- it is super and it's healing properties are wonderful. It does, however, leave a residue so I would recommend that you only use it after you've finished for the day!

I use CereVe lotion and cream. I have eczema on my hands and this is what my dermatologist told me to use. There are two options, the regular kind and SA (contains salicylic acid). I use the SA cream everywhere morning and night. The lotions I use after every handwashing, sometimes with SA, sometimes not. I find it is not greasy at all, not stinky at all, and extremely helpful for sensitive skin. I know the price of a tub of the cream is $18-21, but often BOGO 1/2 price at Walgreens. I don't recall the lotion price. Worth every penny.

This stuff is the best. I get dry hands and live in the desert. It runs about 10.00 but I get mine at Joanns with a coupon. Put it on before you go to bed and in the morning you will notice a difference.

Lately I have been using Palmer's Shea Butter, it is extra thick so you may want to use it only at night but it works for me & I have very dry skin.

My daughter, who is in the health care field and washes her hands a lot, has started using Lubriderm for men and is very pleased with it. She says the scent fades quickly but it moisturizes wonderfully, moderately priced, and she doesn't have to buy separate products. I use Aveeno Skin Relief (for hands and body), and Aveeno Baby Moisture relief for my face. They disappear quickly but keep working.

I just purchased a couple of tubes of the Crabtree and Evelyn's Gardeners Therapy. It smells delightful (light) and feels great on my hands.

There is a wonderful vitamin E cream by Fruit of the Earth that I find at good ole Wally World (Walmart). It comes in a 2-pack for under $5. Only a small amount is needed at a time. I do not find it greasy unless I get carried away and just slather it on. It also works nicely on leather boots and shoes as an added bonus.
