I used to like orange but then I warehoused and sold Illini merchandise (orange and blue) for the UofI's athletic association for several years. Can't stand bright orange now--only tolerate blue. Around here a lot of people make orange and blue Illini quilts. I can admire their handiwork but in the back of my mind I'm thinking, "Why put all that effort into something so hideous?"
    Sorry to any Illini fans.

If you go Judy Laquidera's blob - Patchwork.com and look on the right side bar she posts some quilts/directions - there's an orange one there - I think it's called Dreamsicle. Very pretty.

Orange & Blue are 'gator' colors in Fla! Sorry, I'm a bulldog fan. Hope your colors worked well together.

I love Orange!!! My sister says when I make something with orange, I'm having a flashback to the 60's! Maybe so. But it is a happy color. Several years ago, I made a small quilt by My Sisters and Me. I can't remember the name, the quilt is still packed up....we just moved. But it is beautiful. My highschool colors were orange and white, I grew up in Florida. So I still love it so much! My son is getting an orange and blue for University of Florida for his birthday in July! Go for it! gloria g. in Hemingway, SC

I had some leftover fabrics from another project and made them into a Bargello that makes me think of those creamsicles I used to enjoy...and this pic doesn't do it justice!

In the spring issue 2010 of Quilts and More on page 11 there is a table topper using orange green and yellows that I'm going to make someday. It looks so cheerful. It could easily be enlarged to a bed quilt. Good luck with whatever you decide to do.

Okay, the orange quilt I made by Me and My Sisters Designs was called Orange Slices. Cute, colorful, and very easy. This is the page on Amazon.com I actually purchased it on a CD when they first started. I shared it with a girlfriend. But I love the colors! Enjoy. Hope this helps!
