Don't you hate that when that happens. The directions are wrong.

Well, at least I see that she corrected part of it since I made the pattern.

If your measurement is out for whatever reason, the pattern is very simple to add an extra piece on the bit that is out or to lengthen the next piece without it looking out of place. it will just be a variation. Watch the column quilts tutorial on sewing with Nancy and it is a very similar method. Perhaps you could convert it to a column quilt.

Thanks for giving us the website. I bookmarked it!! Glad it was figured out to cut 28" strips rather than 27".

I got in but could not find the the quilt, what is the name of the pattern. I could view several projects, as a matter of fact, I copied one for myself.

According to the instructions you were supposed to use the three center blocks as a guide/match point to put all the strips together.

I copied the photo on Moda's website and revised to show what your strips should have looked like after you put them together, before trimming the ends. The extra half-inch really is needed sometimes by some people. I know that the feeddogs on my machine occasionally "shrink" a strip by a very small amount. If you don't have that little bit extra, your end blocks would end up being trimmed off.

I think here is your problem, a 2.5 " sqr. will not sew evenly to a 3" sqr. you would need a 2.5"x3" to make this work. However I do not see why you would not simply make all the sqrs 3"....I would have to make a sample to check the math but a simple adjustment to the strip length would make this a much easier quilt to put together...I hope this helps
