I started a dresden plate in 1980 --- never had a class or read a book on quilting or applique (and it shows) got the quilt package as a gift from hubby. Finished it in Dec 2009! My husband said it was a miracle when he saw it on the bed. Am now taking classes and joined a guild and bee.

About 5 years old. My mom and I started a scrap quilt with triangles before she became unable to help me. I found it recently and realized how close we came to finishing. I have most of the squares pieced so I could turn them into blocks and bind it. Maybe I'll get there one day.

just remembered --- it is not a quilt - but definitely an UFO. I started knitting a Fisherman's knit style afghan for my father in 1969 - lots of cables, popcorn stitches, etc. He died in 1970. I put it under the bed, unfinished, and there it sits. Can't bring myself to finish it.

Mine is a wall hanging that I started in the early 90's. I just found it the other day, and thought that I should really finish it. Not my style today, but still pretty. I will try to finish it in 2011...its so close to being done, and I can practice FMQ on it.

2010, the year I began quilting. As soon as I learn how to bind and put on backing my first quilts will be done. If I could stay out of the picture section, I might get them done before starting another project.

I have an unquilted quilt top that my Grandmother made when she was pregnant with my Mom. My Mom is 76 years old. She never quilted it. I guess not getting projects done and collecting UFO runs in the family!!!

One of these day I really should get it quilted. Maybe my first grandchild!!! I don't forsee that happening for at least 2 or 3 years.

When my Mother passed and I cleaned out both cedar chest there were four unquilted tops and of course many quilted ones. The next day all the unquilted ones were sent to Kansas to be quilted by a local church group. It didn't cost that much and now there are more quilts to share with children and grandchildren. All of the quilted ones except 2 were distributed among the girls so they will be used. They all love quilts.

A blanket I started when I was pregnant with my son (soon to be 28). I finished it this summer. Now onto a log cabin started when my 33yo daughter was 16. I am planning on giving it to her on her birthday this year...better late than never. I retired this year and am no longer working 12 to 18 hrs a day at my job.
