There is one of these for sale up in Phoenix for $189. The ad says it's very lightly used, part of an estate sale. Is it a good machine? As a supplemental/embroidery machine that is, I'll continue using my Singer for the bulk of my work :)

I always check ebay against Estate or Craig's list prices.

I don't see one available right now

A non-working 990 recently went for $110 on ebay. The 980 in question is on my local Craigslist. I was tempted to go have a look, but restrained myself since I already have one ;-) Our prices tend to be higher than some other parts of the country - not too many of the bargains other posters seem to find.

I would try to get the seller down to $150.
