I saw a book where you could use children's hand prints to make different animals such as yes Turkeys, reindeer and I forget what else but they were very cute.

Pigom(spelling) #5 works great for writing on fabric and washes well.

What type of fabric paint did you use? We just had a family reunion and with my children & their spouses, grandchildren & spouses and great grandchildren there are 30 in my family. It all started with 3 daughters. I would love to have a quilt like this but I have never worked with fabric paint.

Know anyone with a Brother Dream Machine? It will scan a drawing and writing into stitches.

If you can use permanent marker to draw around hands and place on a quilt why can't they just write their names with one?

you can use acrylic paint with fabric medium added in. Its on the paint aisle in Michaels or JoAnns (or Hobby Lobby if you have them.)

I would suggest fabric markers. If you think the kids can draw a picture, they come in colors..or trace around hands for a quick one and done. I found them near the tshirts in Michaels. I would image you could find them elsewhere too.
