I bought mine at Walmart for very little money. It has a curved metal end (like a scalpel) and a wooden handle. It is very sharp but have never ripped my fabric. Love it!

I like the Clover seam rippers, they made one with a white
handle and also a flat brown handle. I like them both.

Babylock has a seam ripper that is has a flat hand grip so it doesn't roll away and is easy to hold. They are really sharp, too. It's the best I've tried in a long time.

I use a single sided razor blade. It goes faster than any seam ripper I have ever tried. You do end up with a lot of little pieces of thread on the seam edges. I was thinking of using tape to pick those up but I haven't ever tried that yet.

WHAT!!!!!! I use the ripper more than my cutter.... What does that say about my quilting skills LOL
I think it has more to say about your perfectionism than your quilting skills myself.
