Default I NEED HELP, Please!!

A few years ago, I did a watercolor for my church and my DH framed it.

Here is my dilemma. I did this one on a 2"fusible grid. Two of our church members lost their sister last year and has decided they want a watercolor using pieces of their sisters nightgowns and sheets. She was a godly woman and they want me to use my own thoughts for the design. They want it about 36" x 48" to hang over their bed. My creative juices have hit a brick wall. Any suggestions? Please

There is a beautiful water colour pattern in a water colour quilt book. It has been a few years so I don't know if it is still available. It had water colour squares as a garden behind a beautiful black wrought iron gate. I think something similar would be nice for a memorial quilt.

WOW, Tartan, that is a great idea. Do you know how I might find the pattern?
Thanks

I thought I remembered the quilt Tartan referred to, but couldn't find it in my watercolor books... However, I did find a stained glass window in "Watercolor Impressions"

There are lots of quilts to look at for ideas, you could check your library or get a VERY inexpensive used copy on amazon.

If you Google Water color quilts with wrought iron gates, you will see pictures of quilts. Enchanted Views by Dilys A Fronks is the book I am thinking of. The book is fairly inexpensive on Amazon but I don't know all what the book contains. I think at one time she had a pre cut fusible black gate available for going over a water colour background or garden panel.

I find inspiration from googling for pictures or you can do a search on here. I like the idea of the iron gate and my Mom made one like that many years ago but think it was from a kit. If I was near her I could look it up for you. I think you will find something. You did a beautiful job on the one for your church so you are very talented......Don't get discouraged.

If there is even a picture of something you can figure out a watercolor way to interpret it in a quilt such as some people have done portraits.

There several watercolor quilt books on Amazon, including the original one from 1993.

Two books appeared that I have:
Watercolor Quilts by Pat Margaet & Donna Slusser has a cross watercolor
Watercolor Magic by Deanna Spingola is reminiscent of a chapel window

Might i suggest that you also look at "stained glass quilts"....you can make a "picture" of some kind using the fabrics as the glass and black or gray bias binding for the leading.

I love the ideas you've gotten so far, and remembered seeing this iron gate on Pinterest recently. Perhaps it may lend some inspiration:
