They do look like pigs without all the extra work but having said that using some thread painting will make them stand out even more. I love the pigs you are doing.

Could you do a yarn tail, maybe tied in a bowknot?

I second that idea. I think they are really very pig looking now, and with the curly tail they will be great.

I love the little pigs. Embroidering a curly tail should be pretty easy.

Oh my goodness. Those are the cutest piggys I've ever seen.
I have a pattern for making a little stuffed pig and made one for
our grand-daughter when she was a little one. She just loved
pigs. Babys are cute but don't let them grow up. Nice job on the quilt. I'd use some stiff thread and make it curl for the tails.

    good luck.

I think a little sqiggly tail, and mebe an eye, I would trace the pig on paper and see if a mouth would define it any or just leave it. And if you really want to get fancy, mebe a small dark line to define the hooves. Yes, you can easily tell that it is a pig. With pigs you don't have to add much. I really like the pattern that you have.

Chain stitch for the tail and just a french knot for the eye, no other embellishment needed! They are cute, keep going.

Very good little piggies. Would a black bead for the eye and a pink, two hole button on the snout help?

    DeeBooper,
You may like this. My daughter made it for me one Mother's Day. I love pig things too. And I have no good explanation other then they're just cute. Hope you like the pics.

Since you like pigs, I found this one recently -a cute flying pig applique pattern:
