I can't just kick him out of existing space! He is however measuring how we can convert 1 car garage into a studio. We live in Delaware, which gets pretty cold in the winter, but we could heat the space when I'm in it. How much climate control would it need?

I use a Juki TL98Q but will be getting a Bailey 17 soon, i hope. I'm fairly sure that your horizon will fit just fine. go to the Hinterberg site, they are very helpful and will tell you for sure if it will fit.

It doesn't matter how many times I measure my room it isn't big enough for a long arm. My husband suggested I clean out an old house his grandmother used to live in. It would be a huge project - it is filled with junk, the floor is rotting and it has no electricity. I think I might take him up on the challenge! It will take at least a year if I decide to do it. In the meantime I'm learning how to quilt on my Bernina 830.

Best to check with a dealer on that. Drastic changes in temps could effect the electronics in the machine and oil viscosity. My dealer told me to not run my machine if it was over 90 in the room. I have an Innova. It isn't computerized except for the stitch regulator.

No guest "room" at my house (I have two spare rooms, but they are sewing rooms!!)...so I took my LA and put it smack dab in the middle of my main room (TV room, den, LR, etc.) and that's where I love it. Took my family a few weeks to get used to it...now they tell everyone what it is, why it is, etc!

I have a 10' Hinterberg that I had to keep in the front room, as at the time I had a small room for my sewing. 3 yrs ago, got tired of walking around it and added a 18 x 18 room onto the house. Wish now that we could have added a bigger room, but because of lot size we couldn't. And since stuff expands to meet the existing space.....there's no room for me to go to 12' foot poles.

Mine is in my guest room. Since it is on castors, it lives over the top of the guest bed most of the time. When we need the bed, the frame swings out of the way along the north wall. All the supplies that use to be stored under the frame are in the closet.

Use your guest room. I converted my guest room to my sewing room and have never regretted it.
