I didn't buy any precuts and felt the way many of you do. Now I buy the precuts for my charity quilts, because they finish so much quicker. It's a great chance for me to work with colors and combinations I wouldn't normally choose and I get to donate the finished project. Most of them have turned out really well. I will soon have my quota of charity quilts finished for this year and will go back to working on the quilts I choose the fabrics, did the cutting, etc. I have developed a new respect for the precuts.

I'm going to refuse to open another thread on pre-cuts until people think of new things to say about them. It's like Groundhog Day (the movie) around here.

You need to start a thread on "what I have made from pre cuts!"

Is your avatar also an appliqued quilt?

I love them would never be able to afford the variety of fabrics from a range all matching, they are lovely to use with no waste. They also inspire me to do a range of patterns. Have bought mine from MSQCQ. All really lovely.

I don't buy precuts. Seems I always find so use for the left over scraps.

When I first started on my stash, I bought some charms. When they came I wondered just what to do with them. Won't buy any more--the first ones will never get used.

About five years or more ago a dear friend gave me a gift basket of individually tied fq's... needless to say they are still tied and in the same basket... they look so lovely, I can't bring myself to cut them up.

Agree, Agree. I like to pre=wash, and those precuts are so hard to handle after washing, I know, use a bag, etc...I also enjoy the cutting process.

I guess I am weird also because I am a beginner quilter and I love the precuts.

I am with you. I do not buy or use precut fabric. It costs to much.
