I use what is called a mother and child lamp, it looks very attractive with a light reflecting upward that has a dimmer switch then a very bright lamp(the child) on a bendy arm that I use to sew by -the only downside is I get rather warm with the child lamp (or is it my age!!! lol) I would guess they are available over there as well
