Because of the childless and mobile lifestyle I adopted, I didn’t have the exposure to all the bridal and baby showers, birthday parties, and games that go along with them. Noooo. I ventured into nursing, working long shifts which were not conducive to such frivolous activities. Then I had a military career of my own, and shared the military career of my husband. In these golden years, I realize what I’ve missed, and I want to play. I enjoy the folks at the guild, when I can make it to the meetings and beas. Pleasant little socials with an educational program.

Reading about the strip bingo and the Wright way to pass Left has inspired me to collect games which could bring in new life to all of our needle art societies. Perhaps one of the mag publishers will capitalize on the idea. So, let’s put on our thinking caps and reinvent games with adaptations for meetings or retreats. Write out the prep work, (everyone bring in . . . Donations from LQS, supplies needed, etc.); rules of the game; how prizes are awarded.

Drawing from my childhood, (many long moons ago) I thought about pin the circle on the Dresden fan. Would jelly roll strips make good blindfolds?
