I have found the "Perfect material" for the back of my new quilt. Eight inches short. Checked my stash, have a small piece, but not enough. So I will do what the LAer said causes problems, I will piece in a strip of something. But that is the "perfect" choice.

When you take your sewing machine with you for vacation, the bobbins are left at home (except the one in the machine) and the nearest place to get them is 50 miles away! Serious!

Sewing on a a binding.....and the seam in the binding ends up right as you want to turn a corner! This can even happen more than once on a quilt. How is that possible?

You leave the sewing room, walk all the way through the house to the laundry room, when you feel a tug and find you have walked all that way pulling the thread from your machine because it was caught on your pants.

your ancient cat meows and whines all day and nothing pleases him. when you realize it's now quiet and go to quilt, you find the noisy one asleep in your chair. let sleeping cats lie? so you go on board for another 2 hrs of reading posts, till the cat wakes up. repeat. cats get alzheimer's, too.
