Default Need Some Advice on Long Arm Quilter

Hello and thank you for the ad! I really appreciate it.

I am in desperate need of some help / advice on my Eclipse #113322 long arm (stand up) quilter. Any help is appreciated even if simply a referral to someone who can repair.

Symptoms: Machine functions and operates perfectly correct, with the exception of one thing. Sometimes it randomly runs away, ie starts stitching very rapidly then stops immediately as soon as I stop moving. Start to move again and it will stitch normally. It is almost as if it thinks it is behind (which it is not), and needs to catch up. We really don't have the funds to buy a new unit and I hate to just write it off since everything else works perfectly.

Again, any help or input is appreciated! Thanks in advance!

Welcome to the board! Perhaps your best bet is to reach out the the manufacturer directly for assistance. Good luck!

It sounds like there is something wrong with the stitch regulator. I agree that a call to the manufacturer is in order.

Aside from contacting the manufacturer ........ whom did you purchase it from?
    That's where I would start.

I was wondering if ok in manual mode, too. If so then it's a stitch regulator issue. If not then I'd guess that calling the tech for help is needed as it might be the electronic components. not sure about Eclipse, but when I call Gamill they will talk me through lots of problems and there's no charge.

Does your machine have handles with buttons on top of them, one for start/stop and the other for needle up/down? The connections inside those little buttons wear out and when they do, all kinds of weird symptoms develop, and this is one of them for me and my Gammill. Those switches need replaced from time to time, and for me and Gammills they are an easy do it yourself repair. My Gammill tech told me not to press the buttons down hard to make the switches last longer. He said to press the button slowly and gently from the edge just until it functions.

Also, I would try to find a group for your quilting machine on facebook or groups.io..groups like that are a ton of help with everything from troubleshooting to tips and tricks.
