Default need suggestions for using 1" strips

I cut down some layer cake squares and have a pile of gorgeous 1" strips which are begging to be used for something. Any ideas? I was thinking of weaving them together but I'm not sure how to put that together so they won't fall apart. I'd love to hear your ideas.

If you crochet or knit you can sew them together to form a string and make a little soap / potpourri basket or pot holder, or if you have a LOT of them you can make a nice project basket to keep all you fat quarters or fabrics for the current project.

One inch strips folded in half are the size you need for an inset flange.

Other possibility ... make mini quilts!

QuiltE- Please explain what an inset flange is. I too have small scraps in my stash.

hhmm? how to explain?

Fold the 1" in half, so now you have 1/2"
Lay that strip along the edge of fabric and baste in place in less than the 1/4" space.
Lay another strip of fabric on top and sew at 1/4".
OPen the fabric up and voila ... a nice 1/4" punch of colour.

Here's two examples where I used it.

Save them up for log cabin blocks. I use 1" and 1 1/2" strings for a curved effect in my log cabins.
