Default New Bailey Home Quilter on a frame

Well, after dithering for months about putting my Brother 1500s on a frame, I took the plunge and purchased a Bailey Home Quilter 15" with stitch regulator and put it on a used Hinterberg stretch frame. It's a learning curve as I'm having to quilt much slower than I'm used to when I FMQ with the Brother, but I really like standing up to quilt, and I love the way I can load a quilt instead of finding a large enough space to sandwich and baste. It takes as long to pin to the aprons as sandwiching, but is much easier on my back.

I've already done 4 lap quilts -- with lots of mistakes, especially getting too large a stitch length when I overrun the speed of the machine, but these will be charity quilts and I hope the recipients won't look too closely at the quality of the quilting. I have 2 more charity quilt tops to do and hopefully by then I'll be good enough to do some as gifts for friends. I was amazed that I have 15 quilt tops ready to quilt. That's an indication of how much I didn't like sandwiching!

Here's my new baby in her place of honour in my living room:

Congratulations! Excellent machine. I had one for 5 years until I upgraded to a Nolting 24". I sold her to a friend and she loves it also.

Congratulations. Please report again what you think of your new machine after the learning curve.

I AM SO GLAD that you just jumped in and now you are enjoying your new machine so many times you hear the person is afraid to do the quilting.

Congratulations. You will get much faster at pinning the more you do.

Curious how you like the frame I saw one local for sale but was not familiar with it?

Good for you. Having enough room can be a problem.
