    Default opinions please

    I tried Tartan's dragonfly tut http://www.quiltingboard.com/tutoria...n-t236646.html
I would have loved to use black for the background as she did, but my eyes don't deal with that too well. So I used a lighter background. I outline quilted each dragonfly, but the other seams show more on my lighter background. I was thinking of doing more quilting in front of each dragonfly... maybe a swirl with a fly or two in it. The gals at my weekly bee think it doesn't need more quilting. I'd still like some more opinions, though, before I finish it off. Also, should I put a thin border of the dragonfly fabric or just bind it with that fabric?

Also, this was my first attempt at sandwiching with Elmer's... I've been too timid to try. I LOVE it!!!

The background fabric is just a tad darker than it shows in this picture.

I like the colors you have. I don't think it needs any more quilting. I think the border would show off the dragonflies.

Personally I think it would look great with some swirls or something that looked kind of like wind. Not a lot jus some

I think more background quilting in the light color will help make your dragon flies pop up.

If you do anymore quilting then just ever so lightly. It's pretty!

I have no suggestions for you, but I wanted to say that I really like your dragon flies. Their color is great, and I like the background too. (I also don't enjoy sewing on black. Too hard on the eyes.)

Why not add some swirls, antenna, and a little small blanket stitch around the dragonflies in a metallic silver thread, it would add a little punch to the design. You can even echo the wings a little with the metallic silver to make it appear the dragonflies are flying...

i really love that. i would swirly quilt it, maybe echoing a fly or two if you like quilting.

it sure is pretty just the way it is though if there's something you'd like to move on to.
