I make super-easy pillowcases from 4 fat quarters. I believe the pattern was originally posted on American Patchwork and Quilting.

The nice things about fat quarter pillow cases are: you can use two focus fabrics, plus 2 other accent ones, so that if you turn the pillow over, you have a different look; they are really stash friendly and provide a great excuse to buy more fabric...; plus they are super simple and finish nicely. You can finish one off in less than an hour, including French seams if you want.

I'll see if I can find the PDF for the pattern - I've made so many that I do them by heart now!

There is a lot of tutes on youtube to make pillows but i like the one done by Missouri star quilt company also on youtube. Also google the one million pillowcase challenge and they have on their website a lot of patterns for pillow cases.

Here is a link to one of them:

I also like the All People Quilt million pillowcases and the Missouri Quilt Co U-tube tutorial. Have fun making the cases no matter which method you decide to use.

Thank you! I'll try to post some photos this weekend. Sill looking for the elusive PDF, though! If it doesn't turn up, I may try my hand at a tutorial because they are really fun and easy to make!

Yes, yes yes! You've found it! This is the right pattern - thank you so much.

I've made mine in oriental fabrics and in flowery ones. I try to find two interesting complimentary prints for the fabrics that will show the most, then a slightly darker complimentary one for the 'end' and a 'reads like a solid' or small scale print for the FQ that will be the border. I don't put any ribbon on them, as the pattern does, though.

    They're great!

Once more, thank you for finding the pattern and I'll try to post some photos of the end result.
