    In the art world, quilting is a form of visual art known as Decorative Art. Art Quilts or Quilt Art is a form of Fine Art. The two art forms are completely different. If you are interested in the subject look up QUILT ART in Wikipedia. It has a short but very easy to understand article that explains it. You might also look up ART. That article is also brief and gives a very good overlook of the different types of art. Just as a race car driver would not say he drives a vehicle, an artist doesn't say he does art, but states what type of art he does. When we ask is quilting an art, we should also define what type of art we are talking about. We need to be a little bit more informed on our terms so that we are all speaking correctly on the same subject.
