Not ugly, just not enough contrast in tone to let the pattern stand out. Put whatever border you like on it and donate it. Or, back it with a fabric you really like and use it reversed.

I don't think it is ugly at all, my DH said " I think that is pretty."

Well, I like it! I agree to use the darker color for a border.

I have to agree with alot of the other ladies here. Finish it with a border of a solid color and if you still do not like it then donate it to a special cause. There are alot of groups that would love to have something hand made. There are centers for battered woman and children that are always in need of bedding, as well as foster children that have nothing of their own to take with them from place to place that would be more than happy to receive something as special as this quilt.

When I first began reading this post, I was worried because nobody seemed to like it (and I loved it). I'm so glad plenty of people were found who liked it. I guess the hardest lesson to learn(for me) is how different people's taste may be. Thank you all for expanding my horizons!

I agree the flowers kind of overwhelm the quilt. A solid border of green (darker than in the quilt) would tone down the flowers and I'm sure someone would love to have it. You know what they say...One woman's trash is another woman's treasure! Ha Sandy 64

I'd do a border with the darkest pink/red to tone down the floral, but its lovely. If you don't like it, offer it to an older woman in the family - they would LOVE it...

I don't think it's ugly. I say a couple of kinda dark solids for borders will frame it.

I know you think of it as UGLY - but I think it's GREAT. And I DIDN'T like my grandmothers sofa at all. Use green or the deeper rose boarder. It would look great on the back of a chair or over the foot of a bed. Good luck and thank you for sharing.
