    Evening all,

Well I'm getting ready to start using my stash of scraps...and I was thinking of using this pattern for it.

    http://www.accuquilt.com/images/docu...pdfs/55031.pdf

However I was going to modify it to use the 6 1/2 inch triangle die for my accuquilt go. I have a bunch of tan cotton, I believe it must be a whole bolt, or most of a bolt. So I was thinking of using that, and then using scraps of like colors for the colored parts of the quilt.

What do you think? I thought it could either be REALLY pretty...or pretty ugly. But I assume the pattern and idea will work...just depends on the color combos I have?

My confidence in doing this is at about 3% so I'm looking for input and constructive criticism. :)

Go for it! That's how the most gorgeous scrap quilts are made.
You'll be so surprised and happy at the results...

I love the pattern and think it would look great as a scrappy quilt. You can do a scrappy quilt with any and every scrap fabric or you can be a little more choosey and control the colors you use. I love scrappy, but I like to control the colors. I'll go with blue scrappy and use every shade of blue I can find, or reds or greens, etc. The key to success with one color scrappy quilts is to use a wide variety of shades and patterns, plaids, strips, florals, and all variations of the color - like with blues, I'll use aqua, navy, royal, purpleish blue, etc. Sometimes I will make a controlled scrappy with two or three colors. I recently made one with blues, greens and purples. You can pick any colors that are next to each other on the color wheel, like yellow, orange, red, burgundy, or maybe yellow, lime green, green, bluegreen, blue, etc. For myself, I like the controlled color schemes better than all over scrappy, but quilts made with everything but the kitchen sink are also really pretty. Get one scrap quilt under your belt and you'll be raring to go on the next one! Good luck and be sure and post pictures along the way!

I think it would be nice with the tan fabric-more of antique
    feel which I like.

I'm planning to make pinwheels using the Go! For the half-square triangles, I plan to spray starch and iron the background fabric and colors right sides together before cutting the triangles. I figure that will hold the pieces together very nicely for piecing.
