Those are absolutely adorable. Wish I had the pattern for our friendship group. We do an auction quilt each year and that would be so much fun. Please share the pattern if you ever find it. I be Eleanor Burns would have fun making up these patterns into a book like she does with a lot of the Nancy Page ones. I have taken classes from Eleanor and she is a hoot and this would be right up her alley. She may even be a source of information on the pattern. Check with her staff at www.quiltinaday.com.

We could all decide how big we want it to be. How about a twin size? That would be about 8 blocks wide by 10 blocks long - that's if you used all the pieced blocks. That is 80 blocks. So, what if we did 40 blocks total and however many of us decides to do it, we will just divide that number into the 40 .... just brainstorming here. Ideas?

I would suggest using the chambray and red checked fabrics to border around each of these adorable blocks in a Log Cabin pattern. On the red/ white blocks, use blue chambray or solid white, followed by a round of the opposite color combination. The strips need not be more than a half or 3/4-inch each, as each round is going to widen the blocks. Maybe, one round each of 3/4-inch (finished) would not detract too much. Quilter and teacher, Sharyn Craig has many options in putting together difficult settings approaches. She was at our Quilt group, Gems of the Prairie Quilters, twice in the past 3 years and she helped those attending her lectures so much. She has written books on just this subject. You might try Amazon.com to see if they have any past books available. She told us at our February meeting that this is the last year that she will be going out for lectures and is retiring to do all of her UFOs.

These are so cute! I also like the square dance idea. Group them in fours with similar colors. I guess I would have to see them grouped to decide on colors. I wouldn't use anything too busy so as not to take away from the beautiful work.

A swap would be wonderful! Oh great another to add to my WIP list :roll: I guess I will never see the end in my lifetime :lol: Seriously though I would love to participate in a swap. Keep us posted.

I was thinking smaller than a bed quilt personally.... if some have a lot of embellishment it would be a lovely wall hanging.

Just an idea, but seeing as Pam has done the first bit and drawn up a block in EQ, maybe her and I could do a tester block each? And then work together and make a pattern and instructions up for everyone else? I think Pam you can export the block you've drawn and email it to me.

We could have a go and report back. I think they'd be fairly simple, but making a pattern from scratch always involves a little bit of work. I'd love to be involved.

Already having visions of native costumes, and fashion styles from other eras. :-) :-)
