    Default Shops in Atlanta Ga.

    One of my friends is traveling to Atlanta next week and would like to stop at some fabric shops. Would the good people of Atlanta please give me some names to research for her.

    The only quilt shop in Atlanta that I know is Intown Quilters off of North Druid Hills Rd, Mistletoe Dr. This shop sells mostly very bright colored fabrics and batiks. Most of the quilt shops are located outside of Atlanta. There are 3 in Marietta, GA about 20 miles from Atlanta - Little Quilts, Tiny Stitches, and Red Hen.

    If she is on the south side have her check out A Scarlet Thread. It is about 2 miles east of I-75 off of exit 221. This is a huge shop with a LOT of everything, and the people are fantastic. Here are directions from their website:

    If she's on the north side, in the Cumming area, she'll have to go to Thread Bear Fabrics. 770.781.0001. Great people and a gazillion bolts of fabric. Good prices too.

    The Scarlet Thread is my all time favorite, I live three hours away but make a day trip every couple months, Love it.

    I love, LOVE, LOVE Intown Quilters. They have a great variety of fabrics - lots of brights and batiks as noted above, but also great selection of children's fabrics, holiday fabrics, and many current collections. I am heading to Decatur next week and cannot wait to get to Intown Quilters. However, I may have to venture out one day and try to find A Scarlet Thread - sounds like another one of my kinds of places. And I have a dear friend in Cumming, so may have to find that store too. Great information from you folks. thanks.

    I like the Scarlet Thread too. It is near my son's home and I visit them whenever we visit our son's family!!

    When I last traveled to Atlanta I found a Quilt shop Red Hen Fabrics 22TrammellSt.SuiteB,Marietta,GA30064. Nice little place.
