    WOW!

I put a post on my local freecyle group for fabric and quilting supplies....and I am GOBSMACKED with what I got today...and I only went to 2 places.

The first place gave me tons of books...There are tons of the "In a Day" quilt books and other items, and 2 boxes of fabric.

The second place...5 large black trash bags of fabric. They were in clear containers by COLOR but the person wanted to keep the containers so I bagged them.

All I could think as I put stuff into my bags was...do you know how much fabric COSTS?!?!?

Anyway went STRAIGHT to Wal-Mart and picked up some clear containers....scrappy quilting HERE I COME!

Needs to say I was shocked at what people were willing to give away to make space in their houses....I feel like I should make them a quilt to say thank you! :)

So if you need stuff for projects...you might try seeing if there is a freecyle group in your area!

It's a group you can sign up on from Yahoo groups.
My DH is on it and you'd be surprized what people want to give away or are looking for.
Free Cycle is just that - things you or others have that they don't want, don't want to throw away and can't or don't want to see. It is all free. Generally if you want something someone offers you go pick it up.

I've not asked for quilting items though.....

I never thought of using Freecycle to ask for quilting stuff.
I have tried to give away my old quilting magazines, but no takers. I gave away some cross-stitch supplies and it was snatched up really fast.
Good Luck making use of all that free stuff!!!
