I have a hard time staying in the ditch so most times I quilt on the diagonal. Painters blue tape works great for marking and it hides a lot of my small mistakes.

Now this sounds like something I could do!! I like the idea of stitch "over the ditch"... with a pretty serpentine... I once used a decorative stitch "over" the ditches and it worked well. but this would give one some good practice, but with an eye to where one was headed... hmmmmm.... good idea....

yep, I wouldn't try straight stitching in the ditch. curving lines are soooo much easier and look good too. I use my walking foot and just move the quilt to the left and then right as I go along. try it out on something.
