I have considered ordering the Strip Tube Ruler by Cozy Quilts (about $15). Today I was at Joann's and they have the EZ Quilting Companion Angle ruler ($3.50 with 50% off coupon). They appear to be very similar. My question is -is there a definite advantage to the Strip Tube Ruler?

I have both but what do I use? The square ruler that will fit the tube when turned on point. It works better because I don't have to flip the ruler! Just slide it up or down.

I think it's about the same. The strip tube ruler, you sew all your strips together in a tube, then lay the tube flat and use the ruler and cut.I don't think the other ruler has you sewing the strips in a tube.Connie in CO

you don't need the strip tube ruler just use a regular ruler, brb and will post the video that you can watch to know how to make it with your own ruler

I used regular ruler to make some and easier just to slide back and forth and don't have to flip the other ruler

    video to watch

You have both! Yea! Let me ask you then -- is there a difference in the size of the Strip Tube Ruler and the EZ Companion Angle? Is the Strip Tube Ruler larger? And, what size square ruler do you use?

The strip ruler is 9 1/2" along each side. The strip ruler has lines across the ruler every 1/2". I use whatever size square ruler will fit on the tube and don't have to worry about the right size line. There is only one line to measure.

Thanks for the info. So that's our answer. The Strip Tube Ruler is 9 1/2 inches and says it can be used for half-square triangles. The EZ Companion Angle is 5 1/2". The description says for cutting 1/4 square triangles.

I watched the video for using the 9 1/2" square ruler from Missouri Quilt Company and their method, like yours, is pretty nifty! Great info quilters! Thanks so much!
