Thread seems to hang/catch (Bernina machine)

Thread seems to hang/catch (Bernina machine)
I am wondering if anyone else has noticed their top thread hanging while sewing on the Bernina QE machine. I have noticed this over time, but it is happening more frequently. It seems to be the thread guide on the back of the machine. Do you have any suggestions? Thanks.

I bypass the thread guide while threading the machine. I had this happen to me a couple times and just didn't use the eyelet by the thread holder any more. It works much better that way. With no real difference in the stitch. You might try that.
I thread directly off the spool onto the area with the disks bypassing the eyelet.

Is it possible your thread is catching on the spool itself.....just had this conversation with sewing buddies at Mexican lunch today? (No Margaritas were drunk during this lunch!

Perhaps if you run a piece of some fine fabric, like silk or soft nylon, thru the thread guide on the back of the machine you can determine whether there is the tiniest burr somewhere in or on it. And if so, maybe the very finest emery paper may help remove that.
These little problems are SO frustrating and annoying; I do hope you solve yours.

Wow, that is an interesting problem. I have an older Bernina and use mostly Mettler Silk wrapped thread with no problem unless I start using Sulky metallic on top. Hey Jan, next time you visit Mexico, I am just a 30 mile north of the border !! Weather is great, will be in the 80s this week.

You goofy Lous, it only takes about to 20 minutes to get to our favorite Mexican restaurant; it's just across the border.....
