Default trouble with bobbin case for HQ 16

I think I may need a new bobbin case for my HQ16. After I got my bobbin loaded, and tested it on my Towa Gauge, which I always use with great results, I found that I couldn't tighten/adjust the little screw that does this on my bobbin case. As tight as I could tighten it, it still wasn't enough. If I loosen my top tension in order to co-ordinate with my bobbin that tight, then I get a terrible stitch. And, it was all working just fine, the last quilt I quilted about a week ago!! I guess the only place I should order a new case is from Handi-Quilter????? Or are they any cheaper elsewhere and would it work for my machine? BTW, I've checked for trapped lint, etc....nothing.

Here's a recent post. Looks like your Handi-Quilter dealer is the way to go.

Also, there are 2 screws on the case. Double check that you are adjusting the correct one!

I dropped mine on the floor (cement) and one of the screw actually chipped. After that it wouldn't work, so I bought a new one.

I tried a cheap one - not HQ specific - it worked for awhile, but then it became impossible to set the tension. So go with the HQ.

Personally, I think it is priced way too high, but I guess everybody has to make money somehow. If it were less costly, I'd have bought several for those "murphy's law" days we all have from time to time!

I know this company do a lot of custom long arm accessories. I bought from them a case for my Viking 18x8. You could check with them about your HQ16:
