So sorry. If your machine is usually in the same place, use duct tape to hold the cord to non carpet floors. It is how industry keeps cords from being a tripping hazard. The new color duct tapes, you can match your floor color easily. I have all my cords duct tapped down. There is no hassle sweeping or mopping right over it.

Don't give up on the baby yet. Did you trip your surge protector? Is it maybe loose where to power cord plugs in now? Is the bulb loose? Can you take it to a local repair person for a diagnosis only appointment? I hate to see you give up your embroidery machine.

    My condolences in your loss.

I have a Bernette that was broken when I brought it home after My Mom Passed away..Thought it was done. the top cast iron plates cracked etc. set on the shelf for a few years.. I wore out other cheap machines I picked up to get by with...then one day I decided to go through and check everything out..oil and adjust and set tensions etc. and behold it is sewing again..very quietly and smoothly!! still has the cracks in the top..so just maybe one of the suggestions on this thread will help.. I love all you sewers and what you are doing!!!
I would like to have a machine to embroider quilt labels with..to

Sorry for the mishap. Yep, I think I would have a good cry if that happened to me.

I love my Brother SE400. Not expensive and nice features.

Glad it didn't fall on you.

I send my condolences for I know your pain.Since my accident I now have a cup hook under the table to keep the wall cord out of the way and the extra cord on the foot pedal I tape to the table leg-this also helps keep the pedal in one spot
