sad to see so many say there are NO rules! There actually are rules, but they get ignored for the "I want it done NOW" set!
Those of who know the rules rarely break them, but at times,
and they are usually while doing something crafty, not quilty, I will mix all the fabrics together while doing a load and just toss in the dye catchers instead of separating the colors!

THere, I said it out loud!

I make the rules as I go. Then, I don't always follow them.

Can you point us to the rules...for those of us who don't know what they are and probably ignore them as we learn.

I don't think I know the rules. What are these rules? Is there a list of them somewhere? I'm a self taught quilter who learned better ways of doing things from reading books, this board, and the internet but I have never seen any rules anywhere.

I think this thread is cute.

Don't think there has ever been a pattern I have followed to a T.
I read directions, and am always thinking "well that seems a bit unnecessary" "why are they making this alot harder than it needs to be?"
I will end up making it "my way"
I like simplicity, and hate long winded directions.
