Do you have any quilting methods that are technically "against the quilting rules" that work for you? Anything from how you piece, applique, baste, bind, quilt, etc.

I machine-bind...or at least I plan to. I don't pre-wash.

There are no rules in my book, I say do whatever floats your boat

I don't know enough about "The Rules" to know which ones I am breaking. You might say I am a Blissfully Ignorant Fabric Maverick. :) Of course, some would just say the first two cover it... :D

I mix stripes with plaids!

Sometimes, I don't close my rotary cutter blade the instant the cut is compete, but I do chide myself on that.

As far as I am aware; there are no rules (smile). If there are, I have probably broken them all at one time or another!!

Yes, I am guilty of one rule that I break. I'll make copies of patterns...sometimes. I know, my bad!

I use white after Labor Day.

There are no rules, however-----
I don't pin as much as most, I don't always prewash, and I tend to make my own patterns vs following one. And If I do follow a pattern ---- I tend to change it.

What rules?

babyfireo4 10-13-2011 04:25 PM

I mix washed and unwashed fabrics in the same quilt! I know I know giant no no but it's hasn't messed up anything major yet ;)
