A very fine quilt teacher at out LQS teaches this very well. The results are neat. I think a UTube tutorial must be out there. Dotty

I'm working on one right now. I enjoy it, especially when you get done with the sewing machine, and you just have to finish up with a bit of hand sewing, and the whole thing is finished!! No waiting for later to get it quilted. I did one years ago for my mom & dad - think the pattern/instructions came out of a Women's Day magazine. Very easy!

QAYG? I made 14 one year for grands Christmas. Used a doll pillow machine appliqued front and back in the center, machine quilted, then strips around to size. Easy, quick, cute and the kids all loved them.
The dolls were printed 2 sided to sew together then stuff. girls, boys, giraffes, teddy bears, etc. Or a pic, like a sailing ship for the center of the quilt.
They were really fast and reversable to use.

I do QAYG all the time. It is not the same as more traditional methods but holds it"s own in the quilt family. It is just another way to make a quilt and if it works for you then great!. One advantage is you can have a reversible side to the quilt that way you get two quilts in one. Go do what makes you happy and that is what matters, not whether someone else thinks it is "real" or not.

I use QAYG when I'm making smaller charity quilts, or a project for family. It's much easier for me than FMQ on my machine.

Never tried, but would like to someday.

Would like to see someone's completed project.

I did one and will definitely be doing more. I cannot do large quilting on my machine but I can free motion quilt smaller pieces and put them together. Since I want to do my own quilting this is the way for me.
