    Looks like antique shoe stretchers, or trees to help the pointy toe slippers keep their shape.

    I have a cabinet like that my father gave her for Christmas they were married. It is very sentimental to my. I love it.

    they are shoe horns..or stretchers. Used to keep the shoes in shape.

    Haven't seen them in years........

    They are for your shoes. They help hold the right fit of the shoe. Sometimes they are called shoe trees or stretchers.

    I may be wrong, but judging from the small size of the heads, I believe these are darning "eggs" like you would use for darning socks, but designed for gloves! I remember my dad using something like these to repair worn fingertips in knitted gloves.
    That's why there are two different sizes on the ends.
