Beautiful quilt. The pattern took my breath away. I love it.

Wish I could help with your other problems.

What a beautiful quilt. IMHO I would not put that many colors in the borders as it will distract from the lovely quilt. Now if you made 5 more center stars but in a smaller scale, then u could use a quarter of a star in the 4 corners and than half way across the top, sides and bottom put in half of the star then the space in between would be one color.

I am famous for making quilts and then enlarging them. I have done some where I just make the border wider and it does not look great. But if you could carry on the theme of the quilt it would not look like you had just stuck on some more fabric to make it bigger. I would use only one color to join the new stars.
You could even put a thin border of color around the part you gave done now and then put on this new border.

I hope this makes sense as it is just my thoughts. A friend of mine received feed back from a judge that her borders had to have more interest. So I have been trying to change up my borders now.

Since you asked your quilt top is just gorgeous but in my opinion, the border is just a little too busy. I think purple cornerstones and then a thin border of one of your lights and perhaps the green for the rest. Whatever you decide it's great.

How beautiful. I am no design guru, but like some others have suggested I feel the borders have too many colours, maybe reduce it down to three. Please show us what you come up with....'tis a beauty indeed

Your quilt inspector says your idea is just fine, and I agree.
