Home made starch. Works great. And a cheapo iron. My sis passed away and I took her old B & D as a backup. Probably a $5.00 to $10.00 iron.
The other day I made up a batch of starch and thought I would try her iron.
OMGosh. Everything is coming out so nice. I am doing the happy dance.

Starch! Helps with cutting accuracy and also sewing accuracy! But oh so many things, I just love all the help available on here.

There are no quilting police! I don't have to have everything perfect...something about a galloping horse

I think the idea to put the bulk of the quilt behing your machine and FMQ toward yourself is genius.

My favorite tip was to use school glue to help in basting. It is especially handy when putting pieces of batting together.

I appreciated learning about wavy fabric. It just so happened that I had a wavy top the same time someone mentioned it. I've learned not to sew my sashing together on the bias. Looks good, but it got waves & created a bunch of problems getting rid of them.

Starching, measure, measure, measure and others. Way to many to name. Each time I get on the Board, which is almost every day, I learn something new.

My favorite Tip is when you have to rip out seams , instead
of trying to pick all that out by hand are tweezers use a strip of
masking tape and rub it onto the riped stitches and then pull off the tape and {No More Lose Threads} !!! It works perfect every time. :-D
