Connecting Threads shows 100% cotton fabric and 100% quilting cotton fabric. What's the difference?

I don't know the answer, but I am glad you asked.. I have wondered this myself. I wondered if there was not a difference at all.. just a description

Might be worth a call to ask. I've ordered both from the description and never noticed a difference.

Hmmm- maybe a typo? LOL! I don't know the difference, but I've bought a lot of fabric from CT with very good results!

There is a difference between dressmaking and quilting cotton. What I would call cotton 'lawn' has a softer, floppier handle than quilting cotton which is manufactured to better grip sides placed together.

Perhaps it's a description on different pages written by different staff, meaning the same thing?

Might "quilting cottons" all be about 42" WOF and "cottons" be any width? Just a guess.

"lawn" is a cotton that is almost like handkerchief cotton. Very light and see-through.
