done that. I've said "oh so I left it out in plain sight, no wonder I can't find it."

Sometimes I think that certain objects have that Harry Potter Cloak of Invisibility! It always seems once I have given up and gotten a replacement item, Oops there it is!

At least you weren't walking around the house crying because you couldn't find it. I did that last week over a pair of scissors (more behind the tears than missing scissors, but they were the icing on the cake that night)! I did find the scissors - where they BELONG - also found the other pair I thought had fallen out of my car and were gone forever :)

I even wondered if my DGS had taken it but didn't think so.
So I took down a second cutter whose blade isn't that sharp and set it on my sewing machine. Then I bent down to pickup a spool of thread that had fallen on the floor. I was pulling off thread that had gotten dog hair on it. I turned from the sewing machine and reached for a pair of scissors and when I turned back what did I see but not one cutter but TWO!!! Where in the world it came out of hiding from I do not know!!!! They are laying there face to face!!
They were in your "blind spot". There is seriously such a thing! :-D

Your sewing table must be like mine -- haunted!
