Here I was thinking it was only me :-o I finally gave in last night, but €%& if I could find the blades The DH bought me during spring.....I mean, I couldn't have gone through 3 packs of 2 during this time could I? I know I changed the blade once, but five times more??? Don't think so = they are hiding ;-9
So I bought 3 more packs, that was all they had in that store - a budget brand, costs only 34 SEK (something like 3.50$ I think) per package - 2 in each. So I might feel like splurging and change the blades more often??

Mamatron, it is more dangerous to use a dull cutter than a sharp one. That is also true of cutlery in the kitchen.

I think a dull blade wares out your mat faster too.

I think were all guilty of doing the same thing. I'm now getting to where I change them out either as soon as I've done a large quilt (queen size) or when I find they are not cutting well enough or I see nicks in the blade.

I do it all the time and then I get hacked off when it doesn't cut smoothly - go figure!!

I really need to change mine as taking least three swipes to get it all cut but then I get it done, lay down the cutter and think next time will change it. when I finally do change it think hey, should of done this sooner.
