I live in Mansfield Ohio and our Wal-Mart decided to get rid of the fabric department. They lost a lot of business and someone complained in the newspaper. Now they have bolts of fabric back and the department is growing. Hopefully other wal marts will realize their mistake in taking out this department!
    Happy sewing everyone!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have to agree. I was excited to see the fabric coming back, but they haven't brought in much and most of it is really bad. Saw about three bolts of decent fabric last time I checked. I'm also not an exclusive LQS buyer and I almost always buy on sale.
Really I do not shop at Walmart ever (for reasons that have nothing to do with quilting!) but all this talk of Walmart fabric got me curious.

So I took a ride to the newest Wally around. They do have fabric. I felt the same as these ladies thought. The fabric seemed to be rough, thin, and not all that cheap for what it was. I too am not a fabric "snob". I did buy 4 yards of a $2.50 fabric to try a OBW on - want to see if I like the process before utting up "good" fabric.

I'm really hoping that at least one of the two Wal-Mart stores near me will get fabric again. Don't they realize that when we go to buy fabric, we buy lots of other things too? They have to have lost a lot of money by pulling the fabric from their stores. Poor management on their part. Let's hope they correct their mistake sooner rather than later.

Not here. And the manager refuses to put it back in the store. Must have had a mother that made quilts and didn't pay enough attention to him.

One of the Wal-Marts near me just got it back. I was like a kid in a candy store on my last visit!
