    I vote with those who say... 'no' to the extra light colored border. The more I look at it... I think I'd (for myself) choose a very very dark blue or even black for the binding, to make the quilt 'pop' more.

    But then, I'm one of those who like high contrast... and I'm a new quilter... so...

    ahhh... forget what I just wrote! (lol!)

    It's a lovely sampler quilt!

    Personally, I like a wider outer border, but I would use a color a darker as oppose to lighter. I was always taught that, with the exception of a dark border to 'stop' the action in the quilt, the outside borders should be a bit darker in color than the previous
