Well ive made my daughters xmas present as some may have seen. So here is my 1st attempt at a quilt. Its for my granbaby(thats right no D) Jo. She and i have so much in common including colors and fabrics. If any have seen this in person you know that the skull and light pink fabrics have a glitter to them. These are by Fabric traditions. The back is a black fleece with pink and black scotty dogs. The four corners and the middle will be with the B&W skeltons so i can Embroider her name in the middle. So please let me know how you think they turned out. Ohh im also doing it as,,, what ever the name is ( not quilt as you go) its where u cut all 3 layers the same size then quilt each piece with 2" strips front and back to connect them. Anyone know the name of this technique?

Pink n black paisley for most of the middles

skelton for the 4 corners and middle

They are gorgeous, I'm sure the granbaby will love it. who wouldn't? I think the technique you're referring to is another variation on quilt as you go. But it's lovely, and I'd like to see it when you've finished.

Very cute! Looks like a baby quilt I made a friend's daughter! (I used the same skulls, and very similar pink) So you're not the only off-beat one around here!

    Cool, Keep going !!
The skulls are hot right now with the tweens, seems like seeing a lot all over the place. :) Will remind her of what was going on when she was little. :)

Guess you can tell from my avatar that we are cut out of the same cloth so to speak. :D I bought that same skull fabric when we didn't know the sex of the baby so I'd be prepared if my grandbaby turned out to be a girl.
Love your blocks. Can't wait to see the finished quilt. It's gonna be great!
