I agree, these borders detract from the work, go simple on the border so it isn't so busy.
#3 if I have to use one pictured.

I don't like any of them but if I had to chose I take the 3rd one.

The borders you're presenting are too busy and bright. I'd go for a simple matte-like frame and border as you would use for a painting. Select a small border that highlights a color you like to bring out from the quilt, then add a wider border around that with a color that supports the overall look you want, then add a final 'frame' color for the outer border that holds it all together. But don't go real bright on the two outer borders or it'll reduce the effect of the quilt as the focal point. Your quilt is quite nice and reminds me of needlepoint. Sometimes simple works best to set off your work.

I agree with #3. They all distract from the beautiful work you have already done.

All the borders detract from the beauty of the center panel.I would use the quiet cool colors and the black that is in the panel in a simple design such as framing it in these colors. The more intricate the design framing it the more it takes away from the grace of the center.

If you would at least scan the whole thread, not necessarily read it, you will see she has a new picture of a border like you suggest.
