    Default FWS 30's Quilt Block

    Hello Friends,
I wanted to show you a 6 1/2" unfinished block that will be one of many in my Farmer's Wife 1930's Sampler. I am working toward a queen size quilt. I am paper piecing all my blocks, and having so much fun. I could not believe how many tiny pieces in some of these beautiful blocks. This particular block (Mollie) has 53 little pieces sewn together.

I use different colors for different blocks. Each one is amazing, and like putting together a puzzle. In the book each block has a letter written during the 30's by the different women of that time talking about their days. Thank you for looking.

I began doing the farmers wife blocks but found them difficult to do without any instructions. Yours is so vibrant and cheerful.

Paper piecing is definitely the way to go. You are off to a great start.

Thanks everyone. I have made several now. Usually two per week. I jumped in the group after it had been going on a long time, but i am so glad I did.
